Thuja Green Giant Arborvitae

With these beauties you can block out neighbors while using very little yard space. Thuja Green Giants grow in a uniform shape and height. You get that classic French Renaissance look without having to prune or shear. In fact, you don't have to do anything to them. They're drought tolerant and have no significant insect or disease problems.

The Thuja Green Giant is the perfect fast-growing evergreen for a privacy hedge or windscreen. Plant one every 5 to 6 feet and they quickly create a dense barrier. You can easily trim them once a year to your desired height. Left unpruned, Thuja Green Giants planted in rows can reach as high as 30 to 40 feet. Your Thuja foliage stays soft and thick all year long and is ice and snow resistant, making them perfect for Ohio.

Emerald Green Arborvitae

Arborvitaes are exceptional performers, adaptable to a variety of soil conditions and weather extremes. These amazing hedges in groupings for a tidy, neat look that never needs trimming. The Emerald Green Arborvitae is perfect for planting next to foundations or other tight areas where you need an attractive evergreen accent tree that grows hassle-free.

Eastern White Pine Tree

Eastern White pines are a great tree to use as a privacy screen in large landscapes with a lot of open space. It is also great if you need to create fast privacy for your home. It grows around 2-3 feet per year in optimal conditions. We recommend planting Eastern White Pine in a line about 10 feet apart from each other to create quick privacy, however, they can be planted at 15 to 20-foot intervals if you don’t mind waiting a bit for privacy. Planting Eastern White Pines in a staggered row not only creates privacy and a windbreak, but also acts as a sound buffer. To do this, plant one row of trees and then plant another row 6 to 8 feet in front of the first row filling in the gaps between the plants. This method creates instant privacy and will virtually eliminate unwanted sounds once it fills in.

Hybrid Willow Trees

If prevailing winds erode the soil, damage your other plants or allow snowdrifts to form on your driveway or walkways, a windbreak can help buffer the force of the wind and mitigate the problems it causes. Hybrid Willow Trees form effective windbreaks, especially when used in a mixed planting with evergreen shrubs and trees. Because they grow so fast and reach heights of up to 70 feet, Hybrid Willow Trees form windbreaks quickly.

The Austree Hybrid Willow Tree is not an evergreen, it's a deciduous tree, which means that it will drop its leaves in fall. But you'll have the best of both worlds: the dense, vibrantly green foliage delivers privacy and shade during warm weather, and the bare branches will let in the sun's warmth during the winter. That mean's you'll save on your utility bills for lower cooling costs in summer and lower heating costs in winter.

Green Panda Bamboo

Green Panda Bamboo is a non-invasive clumping bamboo reaching up to 10 feet tall, very vigorous and cold hardy to -15F, making this ideal in Oho. This bamboo makes an attractive evergreen specimen or when grouped creates an excellent hedge. New shoots appear early in spring and quickly develop into a large clump approximately 8 feet in diameter at maturity. These are native to western China and are the favorite food of the Giant Panda. Thrives in sun and also tolerates shade. Use in a variety of ways and at any place in the garden as a solitary specimen, or as hedges or as a privacy screen.

Assorted Bamboo

Bamboo has an amazing growth rate. It is much like a telescope in its growth habit as it emerges. Its growth has been measured at almost 4 feet in a 24 hour period during the Spring shooting period. When the new shoot reaches its height, it will unfold its branches and new leaves. Even though the culm will never increase in diameter or height the rest of its life. New plant growth or shoots will initiate around March and extend through May. Bamboo makes an excellent barrier for privacy.
